| Our Timothy - Ben Secaur |

| A student in training to become a minister is called a Timothy by people in his or her church, named after the young student Paul befriended and helped into the ministry in the early church. Our congregation's Timothy is Ben Secaur, a lifetime member of Disciples of Christ churches, and part of our congregation since 1980.
Ben received his bachelor's degree from Kent State University in 1998 and is now midway through his preparation for the ministry at Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. He serves as the student pastor on Old Grassy Christian Church in Mize, Kentucky, about 90 miles east of Lexington in the beautiful Appalachian hills. He is responsible for planning and leading worship each Sunday for a small but faithful congregation.
Ben lives on the seminary campus and is active in several organizations there. Most recently he was part of a cast that performed Joseph and Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the school. Ben is proud that his great-great uncle Raymond F. McLain was instrumental in choosing the current site for the seminary and helping to form it into the outstanding institution that it is today. |

For years Ben has served as a counselor at Camp Christian, our church's camp near Delaware, Ohio. A skilled juggler, he has also helped lead a music, art, and drama camp in western Kentucky these past two summers.
