Ashley Freeman with Amigos de las Americas

Ashley Freeman left on June 12 for a seven-week Amigos de las Americas project in Mexico. Ashley will be working in San Elias, teaching children English, starting a youth group, and helping to build a chicken coop for a chicken cooperative. San Elias has a population of 400 people in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. Her first few days were spent with 35 other volunteers in convent in Guanajuato for orientation. They will be dispersed to different cities in Guanajuato working on projects from building a ball field, to helping remodel a school and build a road.
